“I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
So we can confidently say,
“The Lord is my helper;
I will not fear;
what can man do to me?”
Hebrews 13:5

  • “I will never leave you” … can I rely on that, and drop my concerns?
  • If so, Christ is already here — present tense — responding to my recognition.
  • “The Lord is my helper”
    • What does that mean?
    • Can I — little itzy bitzy “me” — ask and receive?
    • Do I deserve that?
  • Do I fearman” or am I much more intimidated by my own ruthless mind?

  • Who is the “I” who will never leave? — It cannot be part of this vegetable world, where everything comes and goes.
  • Who am I? — An unusual question in our western culture.
  • Am I flesh or spirit? — The physical body will decompose, but something else is here, timelessly.
  • The recognition of this timeless Presence is the birth from above.
